You will need to have a valid ISP (Internet service provider) and ideally you would want 10-15mbs upload speed for a smooth experience.
You need an ethernet cable from the recorder to your router, as the NVR/XVR does not support wireless internet.
Check the recorders network settings and ensure that the DHCP is enabled so that the internet settings are correctly configured on the system. DHCP automatically allows the recorder to take the right network information.
